Since this is the forum for film-makers and not "the worst film of all time" forum. Can anybody help with ideas on how so set up some sort of rigging to shoot some shots in a vehicle.
I want a shot from the end of the bonnet looking in to the driver (whilst driving)and an outside side view (also driving. As the vehicle is a london taxi, lots of shots can be taken inside but i cant damage the vehicle in any way for the makeshift rigging.
I know how the pros do it (full scaffolding round a car mounted on a trailer and towed along......................but come on this is the Guerillas forum ,so theres got to be a cheaper way ?
All help appreciated

I've given this some thought...
You could use a light tripod to pull this off...
1. unfold legs so 2 are short and same length, then duct tape (i think you call it gaffer tape) to the hood... best spot is where the hood and the body of the car meet, where the indent is... duct tape it really good...
2. now take the third leg and extend it until it can rest on the bumper of the car... then duct tape it down.
3. fix the tripod head so that when the camera is attached it is facing where you want it too... if you are worried about scratching the car, then put a piece of cloth, t-shirt, or whatever under each leg...
i hope this makes sense...
I can make a diagram up, and e-mail it to you if you want.... or anyone for that matter!

Thanks , this sounds interesting . I think i have a good idea what you mean, maybe you could e mail me a sort of side on diagram just in case.
P.s. any way i could extend this idea to cover a view from the side of the vehicle ?
thanks

A couple of times, I have hired a car mount, called a limpet mount, which has a pump up suction cup which sticks on a car bonnet it easily took the weight of an Arriflex SR2, safely. It was about GB?25 a a day to hire.
